Whether you are a first time climber, advanced climber, or anywhere in between, while climbing with the Sierra Rock Climbing School you will  experience, learn and feel the adventure of rock climbing! We are certainly not the cheapest guide service; but why risk it with another climbing school and/or guide service? This is what you are paying for when you climb with the Sierra Rock Climbing School: We hire our guides and instructors based on an extremely stringent set of standards. We do not hire guides and instructors simply because they have some prior climbing or guiding experience, or just becasue they are trained or even certified guides/instructors. Our guides and instructors possess all of the following world class attributes, PCGI rock climbing guide training and certification, extensive personal climbing experience, exceptional climbing skills, a wealth of guided climbing experience, vast amounts of guided climbing knowledge, local climbing knowledge, extenstive local guiding experience, exceptional people skills and teaching skills. Our guides are not only highly skilled professionals with many years of experience, they are also fun, unique, inspiring and interesting people to spend time with. We pride ourselves on hiring guides and instructors who will provide you with a safety conscious, valuable, fun, rewarding and memorable climbing experience. 

Sierra Rock Climbing School has also been entrusted for rock climbing instruction and guiding by many of the U.S.A.'s top corporations including but not limited to Google, Frito Lay and Yahoo! Over the years we have  had the honor and privilege of guiding individuals from many different walks of life, from grade school teachers and students, to the worlds most renowned medical doctors and most successful investors. 

Our guides have spent many years guiding our clients in the famed Eastern Sierra, Joshua Tree National Park, Red Rock and Castle Rock State Park, hence our guides know these areas intimately and care greatly for them. From guiding multi-pitch routes to introductory top rope instruction, our guides and instructors look forward to sharing their knowledge, experience, expertise and time with you! 

Where are we Located: The Sierra Rock Climbing School is based in the Mammoth Lakes and Bishop rock climbing areas of California, in the heart of the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountain range., A large percentage of our programs are conducted in  Bishop and Mammoth Lakes. Direct air service via Horizon Air is now available into Mammoth Lakes airport from Los Angeles on  year round basis! Or, you can drive from Reno, NV in about 2 hours and drive from L.A. and/or the  San Francisco/Bay area in about 5 hours.  If you are visiting Yosemite National Park, we also provide rock climbing instruction located literally just a couple minutes drive from the Yosemite National Park, Highway 120 east entrance gate! We also conduct a comprehensive rock climbing instruction and guiding program in Joshua Tree National Park, located only 2.5 hours from Southern California and 45 minutes from Palm Springs, Ca.  Our programs are also available in the Bay Area at Castle Rock State Park and Pinnacles National Monument located only one half hour from San Jose, Ca and most San Francisco/Bay area locations.

About the Eastern Sierra, Bishop, Mammoth Lakes & Joshua Tree National Park: The beauty, diversity and rock climbing of the Eastern Sierra Nevada, Bishop and Mammoth Lakes stands unparalleled by any mountain range in the world. The diversity of the terrain and climate of the Eastern Sierra provides a unique and rare opportunity for year round rock climbing; with the splendor of the High Sierra climbing areas around Mammoth Lakes being perfect from May-October, and the amazing high desert areas of Bishop being perfect for climbing from October-May. Joshua Tree National Park provides a world class and unique climbing environment best enjoyed from September through May. 

Fully insured & permitted service: Our company operates under official commerical use permits issued by the Inyo National Forest, Joshua Tree National Park and Castle Rock State Park and we are fully insured. On top of this all our guides are trained by the a nationally recognized 3rd party verified climbing guide training and certification orgainzation Professional Climbing Guides Institute (PCGI), all of our guides also have formal emergency medical training and certification. All of our guides and instructors also participate in our own mandatory climbing guide and instructor trainings.

The Sierra Rock Climbing Schools programs implement the highest of standards  for professional rock climbing instruction, rock climbing schools, rock climbing lessons, rock climbing classes, rock climbing courses and rock climbing instructors. All of the Sierra Rock Climbing Schools programs operate in partnership with and under permit from the Inyo National Forest Service and Joshua Tree National Park. The Sierra Rock Climbing Schools programs are conducted on a regular basis in Mammoth Lakes, Bishop and Joshua Tree National Park.
